Being born into several mistreated minorities wasn’t a choice, but my work fighting for better representation for each of them sure is!

My name is Elizabeth, and I’m a multicultural female queer writer who aims to tackle social issues through ink on paper (digital paper counts too!), in approachable ways.

I’m about to graduate from the University of the Arts London, with a BA in Magazine Journalism and Publishing. Those past three years have allowed me to explore topics close to my heart, after years of feeling repressed by an academic system that frankly didn’t leave much room for personal expression. That’s why you’ll find on this blog: zines about juggling my cultural and sexual identity, articles about inspiring creatives I’ve had the chance to meet, or magazines about women’s representation in sports.

My current project, titled Steamer, is a new kind of skateboarding magazine. Created as a prototype for my Final Major Project at the London College of Communication UAL, it aims to give a voice to a whole demographic of skateboarders that have been silenced and ridiculed for decades. You’ve guessed it, it’s women. The making of this project has felt like a full circle to me, growing up on board, getting bullied out of it, before finding my voice and fighting to give women a fair share of the industry they helped to build back in the 60’s.

I hope you’ll enjoy what you find here enough to want to work with me by contacting me at: wiartelizabeth@gmail.com

See you soon!
